US telecommunication services that supports international call are breaking their promises! [EXPERIENCE]

 

Coming from a foreign country and leaving behind business and family always is makes you feel alone. The only way to communicate is by using telecommunication services. But unfortunately my country Bangladesh is not supported by two of the most known telecommunication services Verizon & Time Warner. Therefore I had to use a third party service or I should say "services". Let me just tell you my experience with the two services that I used.

1)NuEra Telecom:

So one day I received a call from a guy who claimed himself as "Pakistani" and said they have this amazing offer of calling my country for only one cent per second. I asked him where did he get my number and he said my uncle gave it to him (which is true). I was using calling cards that time so I told him I'm not interested. After a few days the same guy calls me again with the same offer. I passed and said no. But he started calling me every week and I kind of got pissed off and told him I will take his service. But a funny fact about his call was that its not from a mobile phone and you will never get the same person in call if you call them back. However everything was fine after I took the service but when I saw my bill - !!!!! It was far more than they said. Called them back at the same instance but someone else picked up and I asked about the pakistani agent who I talked to before but the customer center refused to give me a chance to talk to the agent and told me that my service allows something that charges me more and they would turn that off and next time my bill will be reduced. But the next time same thing happened and I called them to turn my service off.

2)Lingo Telecom:

The scene is kind of same at the first. Another pakistani called me and told me he has a special promotion and he is offering me a package that Lingo can't offer. I will only have to pay 27$ per month+Tax  and thats pretty much it. So I signed up and noticed something irrelevant. I can talk to him about the offer and everything but I can't sign up for the service through him. But anyway the deal was awesome. Besides for the first 40 days I will only have to pay 5 dollars (trial period). However everything was fine until they charged me 272$ for using their service for only 3 months. I called lingo and like NuEra they refused to let me talk to the agent who introduced me to the service at the first. So I called my credit card company [CapitalOne] and talked to the dispute center. They CapitalOne called Lingo.com and connected me and we had a teleconference. Lingo claims that I talked more than 3000 minutes thats why they charged me that amount when their agent told me that it's only 27$+Tax unlimited. CapitalOne agent found my statement true and fixed my balance. But they sent me another letter saying that if I don't pay them back they will do something in my credit account & they will also talk to the collection department. 

So after all that hassle I am back to my own method which is buying calling cards.
